Eric Beyersdorf, PharmD
Dr. Eric Beyersdorf is a clinical pharmacist at UNC Health Southeastern. He earned his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina in 2005. Dr. Beyersdorf is the primary preceptor for the medical education longitudinal experience for both the PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs.
Jennifer Byrd, PharmD
Dr. Jennifer Byrd is a pharmacist at Gibson Cancer Center. She earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina in 2003. Her work experience includes work in retail/outpatient pharmacy, inpatient pharmacy, and oncology. She currently acts as a preceptor to pharmacy students, as well as, PGY1 residents.
Dr. Byrd is currently the pharmacy manager at Gibson Cancer Center. She serves on the organization’s Cancer Committee, Clinical Counsel Committee with Duke, IRB, and the Clinical Counsel Subcommittee.
Dezia Chavis,PharmD
Dr. Dezia Jo Chavis graduated from Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2012, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master’s of Science in Clinical Research. She has worked with Southeastern Health as a staff pharmacist since June 2012. She currently serves as the manager of the Southeastern Pharmacy Care Clinic. She is the primary preceptor for the PGY1 Ambulatory Care learning experience.
Diedren Deese, PharmD, BCGP
Dr. Diedren Deese obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2003 and then graduated in 2007 from Campbell University School of Pharmacy, now the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In 2017, she became a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist. Her work experience includes work in retail/outpatient pharmacy, ambulatory care, and currently long term care. She currently acts as a preceptor to pharmacy students.
Brett Duncan, PharmD
Dr. Brett Duncan received his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina in 2005. Dr. Duncan practices primarily in the central pharmacy at UNC Health Southeastern. He precepts the orientation experience for both PGY1 and PGY2 residents and manages automated pharmacy services.
Lakeshea Love, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Lakeshea Love is the Pharmacy Manager at UNC Health Southeastern. She earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia in 2003 and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in 2004. Dr. Love is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist.
Dr. Love is the preceptor for the longitudinal practice management experience for PGY1 and PGY2 residents. She also serves on the Residency Advisory Committee.
Kate Miller, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Miller is an inpatient clinical pharmacist at UNC Health Southeastern. She graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences in 2013. She then completed her pharmacy education at Campbell University, graduating with a PharmD in 2017. After graduation, she completed her PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Upon completion of her residency program, she began as a clinical pharmacist with the institution. In 2019, she obtained her Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy. She currently serves as the primary preceptor for the residency research projects. Dr. Miller also serves as an advanced hospital preceptor for Campbell University and assists with training the PGY1 and PGY2 residents on various rotations.
Allison Powell, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Allison Powell practices in the emergency department at UNC Health Southeastern. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky in 2011 and completed her PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler in Savannah, GA in 2012. She is board certified in pharmacotherapy. Dr. Powell is a co-preceptor for the PGY1 and PGY2 emergency medicine rotations.
Sylvia Saint-Amand, PharmD, MBA
Dr. Sylvia Saint-Amand received an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a dual PharmD/ MBA from Campbell University. Following a residency split between Kaiser Permanente and Southern Regional Area Health Education Center (SR-Ahec), Dr. Saint-Amand began a career in hospital pharmacy. She has worked in both inpatient hospital pharmacy and hospital-owned outpatient clinics. She currently serves as the pharmacy business manager and co-ordinates medication safety efforts. Dr. Saint-Amand has precepted pharmacy students from the University of North Carolina, Campbell University, Wingate University, University of Florida and Shenandoah University.
Mary Sheffield, PharmD
Dr. Mary Sheffield primarily practices in the Intensive Care Unit at UNC Health Southeastern. Dr. Sheffield received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina in 2020. After graduation, she completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System in Savannah, GA.
Dr. Sheffield precepts the critical care experience for both PGY1 and PGY2 residents. She serves on the Residency Advisory Committee and Research Project Committee.
Brandon Tyndall, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brandon Tyndall primarily practices in the Central Pharmacy at UNC Health Southeastern. Dr. Tyndall received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Campbell University in 2006. He obtained Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy in 2012.
Dr. Tyndall precepts the orientation experience for both PGY1 and PGY2 residents. He serves on the Neonatal Committee, Research Project Committee, and is a member of the Glucose Management Team.
